Head: Barbora Macková, M.D.
The External Quality Assessment Scheme (EQAS) for Clinical Microbiology and Parasitology was introduced in the Czech Republic at half 1993 to serve the needs of the respective laboratories. The CEM Accreditation Department (AD), the coordination unit for EQAS for Clinical Microbiology, was established at the CEM to ensure the EQAS technical aspects and is part of the Proficiency Testing Expert Group (ESPT).
The preparation of samples to be distributed, assessment of EQAS results, and general analysis are performed by intramural and extramural national reference laboratories, the Czech National Collection of Type Cultures and other specialists.
