The Department of Disinfection and Vector Control focuses on disinfection, sterilization, and pest and rodent control. Two NRLs are part the Department: NRL for Disinfection and Sterilization (NRL/DS) and NRL for Vector Control (NRL/VC). The activities of these two laboratories are characterized below.

Department has two NRLs:

• NRL for Disinfection and Sterilization
• NRL for Vector Control

NRL/DS and NRL/VC are accredited to ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025 by the Czech Accreditation Institute. The laboratories participate in proficiency testing in clinical microbiology, more precisely in EQAS for sterilization. The Department has been involved in legislative issues, repellent, disinfectant and insecticide efficacy testing, and implementation of new test standards and procedures (EN, OECD, FDA, and DGHM) in the field od disinfection and vector control. Other activities of the Department are research, consultations, lecturing, and publication of results or guidelines.
