A National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for food contact materials and for articles for children under 3 years old, a National Reference Centre (NRC) for building materials health safety assessment and a Laboratory for chemical safety of product, which is part of accredited subject No. 1206 ČIA (Czech Accreditation Institute), operate within the Unit for chemical safety of products

All sections participate in paid expert activities, state supervision of normal use products and legislative activities.

The Unit offers complex services in terms of health safety of:

• articles and materials intended to come into contact with foodstuffs
• materials of toys and products for children under 3 years old
  
• building materials and residence interiors of some buildings
• other analyses
