EARSS
The European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (EARSS) is the first independent long-term project to be focused on antimicrobial resistance (AR) of invasive isolates at both the national and European levels. The international EARSS network of the national surveillance systems was created by the European Union EU organizing and supporting this project in the EU member states only. The EARSS activities have been coordinated by the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment, Bilthoven, the Netherlands (RIVM). The objectives of this Project are collection of comparable and valid data on AR for the needs of public health of participating countries and early identification of AR newly emerging in Europe.
